Southwark Playhouse announced today that Before After, a musical love story by Stuart Matthew Price & Timothy Knapman will be live streamed from their space The Little for three performances this September 25th and 26th as a rehearsed reading starring husband and wife Hadley Fraser and Rosalie Craig.

Ami meets Ben by a tree on a beautiful hillside. She recognises him instantly: they were once very much in love. But Ben doesn’t remember her at all. What went so terribly wrong in the past, and is there a chance that, in the present, these two lovers might just find their happy ever after, after all?

I was lucky enough to see the show in its original workshop format back in 2014 and fell completely in love (you can read about that here), so I’m overjoyed to see its return and to see how it’s developed since! I know the show has enjoyed immense success in Japan, and I’m excited for more to have an opportunity to experience it. Not forgetting I love watching Hadley and Rosalie work together, so that’s going to be wonderful in itself especially after the pandemic scuppered my plans to see the West End transfer of City of Angels! In light of all that, it’ll come as no surprise to any of you that know me that I’ve bookended, buying a ticket for the first and final performance 😉 Keep an eye here, as I’ll definitely be writing another piece after that first stream…
